How To Make An Effective Video

1. Begin by understanding that video is more than narration with nice pictures attached as an afterthought. Picture and sound must seamlessly blend to produce…. an experience…. a "wow" experience that appeals to the head and the heart.

2. Find a writer who knows how to write for the medium. Copywriters won’t do. They are blind. Art directors make pretty pictures, but they can’t hear.

3. Find a videographer with many years of experience (at least 30, see above) who understands and uses current video technology.

4. Find an editing facility with all the latest high tech hardware and software, but recognizes that editing is a craft and that all that electronically dazzles is not necessarily an effective presentation.

5. Only deal with a production house that listens intently to what you want to accomplish and then delivers.

6. If you are getting a budget estimate of more than $20,000 for your 8-minute video and it doesn’t include a Hawaiian number or an underwater sequence, you’re definitely hanging out with the wrong crowd.

OR……
